Marvin Wayne Homann, known simply to many as Wayne, passed away on May 25, 2026, at USA Health Providence Hospital. Born on October 14, 1964, he lived a life marked by kindness and a big heart that touched those around him.
Wayne had a deep love for simple pleasures that brought him joy. He was a devoted fan of Alabama Football and enjoyed watching his favorite series, Walker Texas Ranger. His passion for old cars was well known, and he found happiness in singing Karaoke. One tune that held a special place in his heart was Conway Twitty's "Hello Darlin'," which he loved listening to time and time again.
His life will be remembered and celebrated by those who knew and loved him. People very special to Wayne include Ashley Davidson, Elvin Reed, Jr., Patsy Reed, as well as his cousin Kimberly Garrick. Wayne also cherished the friendships he formed through The Arc of Clarke County and The Arc of Southwest Alabama, where he found community and companionship.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Bristol Homann; his mother, Jewel Byrd; and a friend, Steve Woodyard, who were important figures in his life.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Wayne’s memory with a visitation on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Orso officiating. Burial will follow at Reed's Chapel Cemetery.
Marvin Wayne Homann's gentle spirit, passion for the things he loved, and his caring nature will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
