Mary June "Molly" Carney, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 20, 1943, Molly was a woman whose life was a testament to unwavering faith, deep love, and selfless kindness.
Throughout her eighty-three years, Molly touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was grounded in her unshakeable faith—a source of guidance and strength that she lovingly shared with those around her. She found great comfort and inspiration in reading her Bible, often drawing wisdom and peace from its pages. Her devotion was not merely private; it was woven into her everyday actions, reflected in her gentle words and thoughtful deeds.
Molly’s warmth and generosity reached far and wide. She was known for her heartfelt letters, sending encouraging words and reminders of love to friends and family alike. Her gift for written expression was matched by her purposeful actions; whether attending church or offering comfort to someone in need, Molly’s kindness and loving spirit shone brightly. Her presence in her faith community was steadfast, and her joyful participation in services brought comfort and fellowship to many.
She was immensely proud of her family, cherishing every moment shared with them. Her role as a wife and mother was her greatest joy and accomplishment. Molly is survived by her children, Sandra Orizetti (Richard), Shelia Tadlock (Charles), Jimmy Carney, Sarah Presnall (Teary), and Jay Carney; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sisters, Virgie Smith, Verley Bible, Jeanette Smith (Jr), Brenda Smith (Lloyd), Patsy Pritchett (Les), and Barbara Fell (James); a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John C. Carney, Sr.; her dear son, John C. Carney, Jr.; her father, James; her mother, Millie Minchew; and her brothers, Mallard Minchew and Fred Minchew.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Simple House of Praise Church with Bro. Dean Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery.
Mary June "Molly" Carney leaves behind a legacy of faith, unconditional love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
