Mary Inez "Penny" Crawford

Mary Inez “Penny” Crawford, 61 passed away January 10. 2018 at her residence in Sims Chapel, Alabama. Penny was a cosmetologist at Lady Bugs for over 23 years and enjoyed spending time with her clients. She loved to write poems, volunteer her time at the nursing home, sharing her talent to make others feel beautiful. Penny was a caregiver at heart and took special care of others. She loved to travel across the country collecting rocks, mining and making jewelry. On weekends, she loved spending most her time on the river collecting driftwood and being outdoors. Penny loved when her family would gather together to celebrate holidays. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Emma Patrick and her sister, Linda Sue Ivey. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 44 years, Larry “John” Crawford; children, John David Crawford and Chrissy Crawford Jones (Billy); grandchildren, John Rylan, Mya, Haley, Brittaney, and Jessica; brother, Coleman Lamar Patrick; other relatives and friends. A wake will be from 5-7 pm with a Celebration of Penny’s life to begin at 7 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home.
