Mary Ellen Mears

Mary Ellen Mears, 65, passed away on September 14, 2026, at her home.

Mary will be remembered as a loving and caring woman whose greatest pride was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things of life. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, loved gardening, and took special pleasure in cooking and baking for her family. She was also someone many could count on, often hemming things for people with willing hands and a generous heart. An avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan, she brought that same spirit of loyalty and enthusiasm to the people and places she loved.

Mary treasured the friendships she held throughout her life, and her special friends and classmates remained close to her. She leaves behind the memory of a woman who expressed love through care, kindness, and the everyday acts that made a house feel like home and family feel deeply cherished.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Timothy Royce Robinson, Jr. (Allison) and Jonathan Lance Robinson (Becky); grandson, Hunter Robinson; stepdaughter, Renee Comans; ten grandchildren; twelve greatgrandchildren; siblings, Joey Rowell, David Rowell, Renee Wood (Bubba), and Esther Morrison; uncle, Carl Rowell (Beverly); dear friend, Sheree Robinson; a multitude of other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Emery Mears; and parents, Joseph and Nellie Rowell.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at New Home Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Bryan officiaing. Burial will take place in New Home Cemetery.

Mary Ellen Mears will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
