Mattie Lee Johnston

Mattie Lee Johnston, 68, a resident of Fairford, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 03, 2020 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mattie attended Saint Thomas Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnston; son, Jack Stevenson “Lil Jack” Chestang; parents, Dock and Beula Chestang; brothers, Warren Chestang and Samuel Chestang; and sisters, Estelle Johnston and Dorothy Orso. Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lillie Kenney and Ola Mae Garcia (Hector); brothers, Elvin Chestang (Dorothy), Kenner Chestang (June), Lonnie Chestang and Tommy Chestang (Laurie); raised like a son, Charles Chestang, Jr. (Annie); step daughters, April Johnston and Belinda Johnston; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm graveside service and interment at Saint Thomas Holiness Church on Wednesday, May 06, 2020 with Rev. Eddie Stringfellow officiating. Due to the current health situation of COVID 19 and orders from Department of Public Health, only 8 people may enter the facility for visitation at a time and compliance with social distancing will be observed.
