Melton Eugene "Buddy" Martin

Melton Eugene “Buddy” Martin, Sr., a resident of Fellowship, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021. He was 82 years old. Buddy was born in Boyce, Louisiana and still has family in that area. Buddy enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was a Deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church where he loved to worship the Lord. Buddy loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and helped raise several nieces. Buddy was also Chairman of Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery Committee for many years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Tiny Martin; son, Wayne Martin; and siblings, Lester, Ray, Robert, and Gerald Wayne Martin. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Mary Martin; children, Gene Martin (Jeanna), Kenny Martin (Tracy), and Karen Tucker (Johnny); grandchildren, Terra, Buddy (Lacey), Kristyna, Brian, Simon, Dawson, Lissa, and Alison; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, JR, Edward, Gary, Shirley, Sue, David, and Kathy; special sister-in-law, Marilyn; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11am Friday, January 29, 2021, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ray Robinson officiating. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com.
