Michael Ernest Taylor

Michael (Mike) Ernest Taylor, 70, of Barlow, AL, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 6:52 am at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. He was born on January 16, 1954, to Ernestine and J.L. Taylor, who preceded him in death. Mike was a loving father to his two daughters, an amazing husband, Papa, uncle, cousin, and brother to his precious sister, Debbie, who also preceded him in death. He also had many friends whom he loved dearly. Those who knew Mike knew he was a hard worker, and whatever the task put before him, he always did a first-class job and was willing to help anyone in need.  Mike was a selfless man who put others' needs ahead of his own.

Mike graduated from the University of Florida in 1982 with a degree in Veterinary Sciences and was a lifetime Gator fan. In 2020, he retired as a Business Solutions Engineer from ND Systems Inc., where he worked for 16 years. Mike was continuously busy learning a new hobby. He was an amazing carpenter and craftsman, and he loved tending to his vegetable and plant gardens. Mike was a faithful member of the Barlow Chapel Community Church in Millry, AL, where he was very active.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Williams Taylor; daughters, Erin (Mike) Batz and Amanda (Nathan) Wood; stepsons, Brandon Lindsey and Bradley Lindsey; grandsons, Fischer Pollard, Cole, and Baylor Lindsey; granddaughters, Alexandra Batz, Quinley, Layken, and Rori Kate Lindsey, nephew, Michael Kendrick; nieces, Deanna (Greg) Quinn and Jennifer Miller; great-niece, Daegan Quinn; great-nephews, Gavin Quinn and Chase Cobb; finally, man’s best friend, Bandit.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held at Barlow Chapel Community Church in Millry, AL, on May 14^th at 11:00 am. A visitation for family and friends will be at 10 a.m., and a luncheon immediately following the service.  

Instead of flowers, the family asks for support by donating to the American Heart Association or the Barlow Chapel Community Church.

The family is grateful to all the doctors and nurses at Mobile Infirmary MICU for the love and care they provided him and to the wonderful first responders of Laton Hill, Yarbo, and Copeland. God bless you all!
