Paul A Rivers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Springhill Memorial Hospital. Born on December 4, 1964, Paul lived a life marked by steady dedication, loyalty, and a spirited embrace of both family and community.

Paul was known for his unwavering work ethic, having spent over 25 years as a truck driver. With countless miles traveled, he not only supported his family but also built lasting friendships and left positive impressions wherever the road took him. His career reflected the values he held dear: persistence, reliability, and a quiet kindness that touched many lives.

A proud patriot, Paul served over 10 years in the National Guard, answering the call to protect and serve his country. Through his service, he demonstrated honor and integrity—qualities that remained central throughout his life.

Beyond his professional and military pursuits, Paul was a man of diverse interests and simple joys. He found fascination in coin and rock collecting, hobbies that brought him peace and a sense of discovery. A true enthusiast of Alabama football, he cheered passionately for his team, sharing memorable moments with loved ones. Paul was also a devoted fan of UFC, never missing an opportunity to watch a good fight and celebrate the spirit of competition.

Family was Paul's greatest treasure, and his presence will be deeply missed by those closest to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Nina Rivers; his devoted son, Brian Tucker Rivers; and his cherished stepchildren, Danielle Johnson and Michael Mitchell. Paul took immense joy in being a grandfather to Haylee Mitchell, embracing that role with the same warmth and pride that defined his character.

He is also survived by his sisters, Angie LeGear (Lee) and Susan Byrd; his brother, Ryan Rivers; his uncle, Van Rivers; and his aunts, Bernice Davis and Ruthie Weaver. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends mourn his passing and remember the indelible mark he left on their hearts.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Rivers; his mother, Mary Rivers; and his sister, Minnie Rivers.

Family, friends, and all who knew Paul are invited to gather in his memory on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Augustine as celebrant, honoring Paul's faith and the lasting impact of his life. Burial will be held at Byrd Cemetery.

Paul A Rivers’s journey was one of service, devotion, and unwavering love for those around him. His legacy endures in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the deep bonds he formed. He will be remembered with the utmost respect, and his memory will continue to inspire all those privileged to have known him.
