Pearlie Clarice Lott, affectionately known as Clarice, passed away on July 15, 2025, at The Retreat Hospice Inpatient by Saad. Born on March 21, 1952, Clarice lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Throughout her career, Clarice worked alongside her sister-in-law at the Citronelle Health Department as a custodial worker. However, her true devotion lay in her role as a stay-at-home mother and wife, where she poured her heart into nurturing her family. Her funny, sweet, and caring personality endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Clarice's love for life extended beyond the walls of her home. She cherished playing rummy, shopping at Cato's, and dining out with loved ones. Traveling and spending leisurely moments, or as she affectionately called it, "loafing," with her family and friends brought her immense joy.
Her daughter, Virginia Lott, was the pride of her life, and Clarice's commitment to family was unwavering. She created countless memories with her, nurturing a bond that was the essence of her happiness. Clarice also leaves behind a supportive circle of family and friends, including her sister-in-law, Bobbie Smith (Ellis), brother-in-law, Kevin Holifield (Kimberly), nephews, Skyler Holifield and Brennan Freeman, and close friends, Audrey Byrd, Mary Sue Weaver, Leila Bynum, and Alice Moore, along with many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
Clarice is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mitchell Orban Lott, parents, Aaron and Annie Byrd, and siblings, Charles Leslie Byrd and Forrest Byrd. Their memories will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who survive her.
Visitation for Clarice will be held on July 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM at Shalom Baptist Church, located at 4476 W Coy Smith Highway, Citronelle, AL 36522. It is a time to celebrate her life and honor the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Clarice Lott will forever be remembered for her nurturing spirit, infectious humor, and the love she shared so generously with family and friends.
