Quinin Bryers Silcox, a beloved and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at USA Health Providence Hospital. Born on July 10, 1938, in Monroeville, Alabama, Quinin lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Quinin was a proud veteran, having served as a Private in the United States Army Reserve. After his service, he dedicated over three decades of his life to Mobil Oil, where he worked diligently until his retirement. Those who knew him remember a man who was not only hardworking but also genuinely kind, giving, and vibrant in spirit.
Known for his outgoing personality and ever-present smile, Quinin delighted in numerous hobbies and pastimes. His passions included hunting, fishing, savoring good meals, and spending quality time each day at the Senior Citizens Center, where he enjoyed the company of good friends. He also cherished afternoons at yard sales, was an avid fan of Alabama football and sports in general, and found peace in gardening and visits to his camp in Deer Park. He loved going to Sunday School and church at Memorial Baptist and the community Men's Prayer Breakfast. Above all, Quinin loved spending time with his family, which he often described as his proudest accomplishment.
Quinin leaves behind a legacy enriched by the love and devotion of his wife of 67 years, Rebecca Silcox. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Yolanda Lofton (Mickey) and Tonya Agee (Clint), and a loving grandfather to Rusty Faircloth (Christi), Jennifer Weaver (Jeremy), and Madeline Agee Deakle (Cameron). His joy extended to his great-grandchildren: Blayne Weaver, Caleb Weaver, Brett Weaver, Delaney Faircloth, Kristen Crager, and Kenzie Phillips. Quinin is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who were fortunate to know his generous and kind nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ouida Silcox, and his siblings, Clyde Silcox, Cecil Silcox, Roy Silcox, Emily Grimes, Judy Richard, and Ruth Lewis.
