Rhonda Byrd

Rhonda Byrd, born July 26, 1970, in Jackson, Alabama, passed away on October 24, 2026, at UAB Hospital. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving, and caring woman who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

Rhonda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved dancing and enjoyed watching Auburn football and the Dallas Cowboys. More than anything, she treasured spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and the time she shared with them was among her proudest blessings.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Eric Byrd, Jr. (Paige) and Thomas Aaron Byrd; her step-daughter, Erika Weaver (Jeremy); her God daughters, Amber Danielle Kimmons, Eden Lashea Jordan (Curvin), and Tiffani Nicole Woodyard (Joshua); her grandchildren, Jaylnn, Della, Tripp, and Jade; her brothers, Wesley Qualls (Sharon) and Thomas Qualls; and her sisters, Teresa Driver (Tommy) and Teresa Appling (Bo). She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her son, David Mark Lankford, Jr.; her father, Edward Younge; her mother, Faye Younge; her aunt, Judy Kaye Sullivan; her grandmother, Mamie Ruth Sullivan; and the father of her children, Jack Eric Byrd, Sr. Their memories remained a part of her life and story.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home.

Rhonda Byrd will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
