Ricky Donnell Reed

Ricky Donnell Reed, born June 10, 1961, passed away on October 19, 2026, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He will be remembered as a happy man whose love for family shaped the way he lived and the way he was loved in return.

Ricky worked as a deckhand and also in construction. He brought himself fully to whatever he was doing, and those who knew him knew the sound of his voice well, because he loved to sing. No matter the task or the moment, he was often singing. He also enjoyed watching football, with a special love for Auburn football and the San Francisco 49ers. Through the everyday routines of work, home, and the things he enjoyed most, he carried a joyful spirit. His family meant everything to him, and that devotion stands among the clearest reflections of his life.

He is survived by his children, Monique Reed and Ricky Reed; his sister, Nicole Burton Robinson (Eddie); and his brothers, Todd Reed and Edmond Reed. May the love he shared with them, and the memories they hold, continue to bring comfort and strength in the days ahead.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Reed; his father, Lloyd Reed; his mother, Jacqueline Burton; his dad, Cecil Burton; and his brothers, Rex Reed and Richard Burton. Their memories remain a lasting part of his story and of the family he cherished so deeply.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Reed's Chapel Cemetery.

Ricky Donnell Reed will be remembered for his song, his smile, his love of football, and above all, his love for his family. His memory will remain dear to all who knew and loved him.
