Robert Burt Goodwin, born on February 11, 1966, left this world on April 12, 2024, surrounded by his family at the North Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was known for his kind and generous spirit, always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Robert's vivacious personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He never met a stranger, and his quick wit and sense of humor made him a beloved figure in his community. His friends and family will always remember him as a one-of-a-kind individual with a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter wherever he went.
One of Robert's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family, which he valued above all else. His proudest accomplishment was the love and bond he shared with his loved ones.
Robert is survived by his mother, Lelia "Lola" Strahan; brothers, Carl Goodwin and Danny Goodwin; sisters, Jackie Alexander (Daniel), Deedee Keebler, Janie Willis, Mitzy Byrd (Eddie), Sally Flores-Cruz (Mi Tran), Sharon Sullivan, and Hana Johnson; daughter, Laylia Reighn Adams; goddaughter, Rylyn Saige Adams; niece, Laura Ables; great-niece, Vanessa Ortega; as well as a host of special friends including Bob Myers, Glenn Davis, Julius Broussard, Mr. Loot, Big Al, Vicky Beever, and James Riley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul James Goodwin; mother, Eunice Mae Andrews Goodwin; and sister, Danta "Dee" Johnson. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his caring nature and sense of humor, Robert was passionate about going to the pawn store and yard sales. These hobbies brought him joy and added to the tapestry of his vibrant personality.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Magnolia Cemetery.
