Roland Junior Byrd

Roland Junior Byrd, 68, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his home in Mount Vernon, Alabama. Known as “Gator” he loved going to car races and sitting and joking with his friends. He was a member of Shalom Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Byrd and Charles Edward Byrd. Left to cherish his memory his children, Roland D. Byrd (Tara) and Amber Byrd (Wendy); grandson, Bryson; siblings, Glen Byrd, Nellie Foster, and Vera Rivers (Stan); sister in law, Jeanie Byrd; special devoted friends, Timmie and Peggy Dearman; other relatives and friends. A wake will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6pm to 9pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11am, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Simple House of Praise with Rev.
