Ron Michael Johnston

Ron Michael Johnston, born on July 3, 2001, passed away on August 25, 2026. His death brings deep sorrow to those who knew and loved him, and he will be remembered with great affection by his family and friends.

Ron enjoyed the things that brought him connection and happiness. He was an avid gamer, his gaming tag was Artyom_Army "Arty", and gaming was one of the passions that shaped many meaningful moments in his life. He competed in a gaming league alongside his brothers, CJ and Brandon, his cousins, Chris Rowell and Austin Lewis, and his friend, Ryan "Gilt". He also enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend and with his nieces and nephews. In addition to gaming, Ron liked Anime and loved listening to music and singing, interests that added to the spirit and personality those close to him will always remember.

He is survived by his mother, Renee Johnston; his sisters, Kimber Johnston Smith (Jeremy), Cheyenne Roberts (Jonathon), and Michelle Johnston (Jacob Motes); and his brothers, Brandon Johnston and Charles “CJ” Johnston. He is also survived by his uncles, Ralph Maddox and Charles "Bubba" Maddox; his aunts, Judy Sullivan, Ruby Walston (Robert), and Christie Pritchett (Glenn); his cousins, Heaven Walston and Tori Maddox-Anderson; his girlfriend, Kaitilyn Wofford; a multitude of cousins; and many other relatives and friends. He shared special time with his family, and the love between them remains a lasting part of his memory.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Michael Johnston; his brother, Alex Johnston; and his grandparents, Juanita Johnston, Peter Johnston, and Charles "Friday" Maddox.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home.

Those who loved Ron will hold close the memory of his companionship, his interests, and the time they were blessed to share with him. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
