Ronald Sherrill Reynolds

Ronald Sherrill Reynolds, known to everyone as “Ronnie” and affectionately called “Bobo” by many of his friends, passed away on September 22, 2026, at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Alabama. He was 72 years old. Ronnie was born on October 5, 1953, in Mobile, Alabama, to Horace and Lucille Reynolds and made his home in Mount Vernon, Alabama.

Ronnie was a skilled pipefitter and welder. He was a loyal, wise, sincere, and honest man who believed in doing what was right. He had a heart of gold, loved his family and friends deeply, and never judged others. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, a devoted Citronelle Wildcat football fan, and a man who loved the Lord.

Ronnie spent many cherished years at Hal’s Lake overseeing Boggy Gut Hunting Club. The outdoors and the hunting club were more than a pastime to him; they were his passion. He knew the swamp like no one else and dedicated a meaningful part of his life to the place he loved so much.

He was also passionate about sports. In his younger years, Ronnie was very involved in youth sports in Mount Vernon and helped start the Mount Vernon City League football program. His love of sports continued throughout his life, especially when it came to cheering for the Citronelle Wildcats.

Above all, Ronnie loved his family. He and his beloved wife, Rene’ Daugherty Reynolds, shared 53 years of marriage and raised three children together. Some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Poppa.” He was incredibly proud of them and treasured the time he spent talking with them about life, sharing his wisdom, and simply being together.

Ronnie faced many years of sickness with strength and perseverance. Through it all, his love for his family remained at the center of his life. His steady presence, honest heart, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Rene’ Daugherty Reynolds; his children, Jeremy (Carmen) Reynolds, Casey Reed, and Adam Reynolds; his grandchildren, Adrienne Reynolds, Joseph Reed, Raegan Reynolds, Cassidy Reed, Gabriel Reynolds, Justin Reed, Bailey (Sydney) Brown, Regan Brown, and Prestyn Huckabee; and his great-grandchildren, Paisley Rae Reed, Greyson Reed, Jasmine Reed, and Bennett Brown. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Lucille Reynolds; his sister, Maxeen Davis; his brother, Aubrey Reynolds; his brother-in-law, Charles Davis; his son-in-law, Joseph Ray Reed; and his nephew, Tim Davis.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service at Lockler Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Orso officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Middleton, Jason Stringer, Shane Stringer, Brent Taylor, Gabriel Reynolds, and Bailey Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Rowell, Gary Wayne Davis, Darrell Davis, Joey Rowell, and Danny McDonald.

Ronnie’s family will forever remember him as a devoted husband, loving father, proud Poppa, loyal friend, and a good man who lived with honesty, faith, and love.
