Roy Elton Reed, Sr.

Roy Elton Reed, a native of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Friday, June 09, 2017. He was 65 years old. Roy loved to tell stories, watch Alabama Football, and watch wrestling. He attended church at Shalom Baptist Church. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Amburst Reed; and brother, John Mason Reed. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, William Reed (Anita Dixon) and Roy Reed, Jr.; grandchildren, Aslynn, Alex, Darla, Quinn, Jackson, and Mason; mother, Isabelle B Nelson; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the 3pm funeral service Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Dunford Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
