Roy Watson Gray, affectionately known as Watt, passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born on March 1, 1932, in Gordo, Alabama, Watt lived a long life marked by devotion to his family, steady work, and a warm spirit that drew others to him. He attended Livingston State Teacher's College, where he met the love of his life, Hazel. Their marriage thrived for 67 years, a lasting testament to commitment and shared life.

Watt served his country in the United States Navy as a Radarman Third Class. After his military service, he began his career in the oil field in Citronelle and later became a chemical operator and supervisor in various plants. He also built, owned, and operated the Citronelle TV Cable Company, which reflecting his work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit. Watt was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church. 

He will be remembered as happy, funny, loving, and caring, with a great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and camping, simple pleasures that brought him happiness over the years. Above all, his family meant everything to him. He loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those moments were among the great joys of his life.

Watt is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Hazel Gray; his daughter, Dwan Kirby (Bryan); his grandchildren, Zachary Kirby (Melanie), Rhett Kirby (Ariel), and Allison Ehmke (David). He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Lucy, Kirby, Paisley, Tate, and Wilson, who were a treasured part of his life and brought him much pride and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elliot Gray; his mother, Jeanette Gray; his brother, Elliot Gray, Jr.; and his sister, Evalane Wood.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Dino Danzey and Pastor David Emhke officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Crest Cemetery.

Roy Watson Gray will be remembered with love for the life he built, the laughter he shared, and the deep care he gave to his family. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
