Ruth Ella Miller

October 27, 1941 — December 25, 2023

Ruth Ella Miller, a beloved member of the Citronelle community in Alabama, passed away on December 25, 2023, at her residence. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments. Born on October 27, 1941, in Citronelle, Ruth lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends.

Ruth was known for her big heart and hospitable nature. She had an unwavering faith in God and was a devout woman who loved her church and church family. Her commitment to her faith was evident in everything she did. Ruth always opened her home to everyone, providing a warm and welcoming environment where all were embraced.

Cooking was one of Ruth's passions, and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Her family and friends eagerly looked forward to gathering around the table to savor her homemade dishes. The love she poured into her cooking was felt by all who tasted her creations.

In addition to cooking, Ruth enjoyed watching Alabama football with great enthusiasm. She reveled in cheering on her favorite team while rooting for Nick Saban. Alongside sports, she found solace in reading her bible and engaging in word puzzles that challenged her mind.

Ruth's proudest accomplishments revolved around the relationships she cultivated throughout her life. She cherished the time spent with her husband of many years, William "Dub" Miller, who preceded her in death. Together they built a strong foundation of love and support that will be remembered for generations to come.

She is survived by two devoted sons: William Paul Miller and Timothy Bryan Miller (Karen). Ruth's love extended to six cherished grandchildren: Brittany Nicole Weston (Ryan), Buddy Atkins, Mary Catherine Beard (Robert), Ben McKinney Jr., Johnathan McKinney, and Christopher Paul Miller (Catherine). Her great-grandchildren Lillian Michelle Weston, Jacob Brummer, Daniel Miller, and Hannah Miller were a source of joy and pride for her. She is also survived by her brothers, George Rowell, Carl David Rowell, and Malcolm Rowell. Ruth's expansive family also included numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Miller McKinney, as well as her parents, Ruth and Raymond Rowell, and her siblings Wesley Rowell, Joe Rowell, Clifford Rowell, Bobby Rowell, and Paul Rowell.

As we gather to honor Ruth's memory, a visitation will take place on December 30th, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service at New Home Baptist Church in Citronelle with Bro. Jeff Bryan and Bro. Tanner Rowell officiating. The church holds significant meaning to Ruth as it was the place where she found solace in her faith.

Ruth Ella Miller's life was one well-lived. Her legacy of love, warmth, and devotion will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, let us hold onto the memories we shared with her and find comfort in knowing that she has left an indelible impact on our lives.

May she rest in eternal peace.
