Ryan Christopher Reed, Sr.

Ryan Christopher Reed, Sr., affectionately known as "Chops" to his loved ones, passed away on April 8, 2024. He was born on October 15, 1977. Chops was a goofy and loving individual with a big heart, known for being a realist and strong-willed in all aspects of his life.

Throughout his time on this earth, Chops found joy in simple pleasures such as sitting on the porch with his mother and sharing warm embraces that could instantly lighten any spirit. His hobbies included fishing, four-wheeler riding, and passionately following various sports teams. Above all else, he cherished the moments spent with his family and friends.

One of Chops proudest accomplishments in life was being a devoted father to his children- Ryan Christopher Reed, Jr., Trent Reed, and Drake Reed. He will be deeply missed by them and by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chops is now reunited in heaven with his sisters, Paula Moore and Sandra Orso; nephew, Austin Blachier; and grandparents. 

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his surviving family members: his mother, Jowanna Brown; father, Larry Wayne Reed (Jeri); brothers, Sedrick Artez James, Sr., Jason Allen, Will Smith, Brent "PawPaw" Campbell, and Jimmy "RayRay" King; as well as his one true love, Krista Byrd; and his companion, Boosie. Additionally, Chops is survived by numerous aunts and uncles, a multitude of cousins, and a vast circle of other relatives and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.

Ryan Christopher Reed, Sr.'s departure from this world has left a void that can never be filled; however, the impact of his presence will continue to resonate within the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will always be remembered fondly.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM until the 4:00 PM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Leamon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
