Sadie Florence “Mickey” Ramey, 82, a lifelong resident of Calvert, Alabama passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was a devoted member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with her family. Mickey was a founding member of the Citronelle Cancer Support Group and helped others in their time of need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Z. Smith, Sr. and Sadie Nader Hudson; and son, Bobby L. “Dunor” Ramey, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Bobby L. Ramey, Sr.; sons, Jerry Ramey (Ashley) and Chris Ramey; grandsons, Mason Ramey, Cody Ramey, and Casey Ramey; brother, Walter Z. Smith, Jr. (Pat); sisters, Mary M. Hankins and Marie “Ree Ree” Taylor; godsons, Eddie Nader, James Taylor, James Hankins and Logan Hankins; and numerous beloved family and friends.
A wake for Mickey will be from 6-9pm Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home. Due to the current health situation of COVID 19 and orders from Department of Public Health, only 8 people may enter the facility for visitation at a time and compliance with social distancing will be observed. Graveside service and interment will be 10am Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Catholic Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Alabama with Rev. John Coghlan, Celebrant.
