Sara Ann Smith (Wall) was born June 14, 1935, in Mobile, Alabama and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 03, 2023, in Pensacola, Florida. She was 87 years old. Sara was a graduate of Bishop Toolen Catholic High School, Class of 1953. Sara was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Citronelle, Alabama until her passing. In 1955, Sara met her husband of 66 years James E. Smith (Smitty) at Brookley Field, in Mobile, Alabama while he was in the United States Air Force, and she was employed as a clerk typist at Brookley Field. Sara was a strong and loving mother devoted to their seven children, becoming the head of the house when Smitty was in Vietnam. No easy feat for any person. Along with raising her children Sara loved reading, knitting, crocheting, and playing Bingo not to mention playing “highly competitive” games of Pinochle and Dominos with her family. She also cherished spending time with her sisters, nieces, nephews and friends for birthday luncheons.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents; father, John Thomas Wall, mother, Avanelle Clausen Wall, sisters Jeanne Nash (Frank), Barbara Alonzo, husband, James E. Smith, grandson, Robert A. Smith, great-grand-daughter, Aliyah N. Richardson.

Sara leaves behind seven children; Elizabeth A. Smith, Cape Coral, FL Yvonne Smith-Jeffery (Adam), Hutto, TX, Thomas S. Smith (Margaret), Chunchula, AL, Michael A. One sister, Thomasine (Edward) Werneth, Orange Beach, AL, sister-in-law Shirley Jamerson, Griffin, GA., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved lifelong friends.
