Sylvia Regina Vice, affectionately known as Regina, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Born on September 30, 1962, Regina lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and humor. She was an outgoing, loving, funny, and friendly woman whose presence touched the lives of many.
Regina found great joy and a sense of belonging at Bethel Lighthouse of Prayer Church in Fairford, Alabama, where she was an active and cherished member. She delighted in playing her tambourine, sharing moments over Diet Coke with friends, and indulging in soap operas, which brought her simple pleasures and happiness.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Regina’s proudest accomplishment was spending quality time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved son, James "Bobo" Havelin, Jr., and his wife Stephanie; her treasured grandchildren, Taylor Havelin and her devoted friend Gabe Murphy, as well as Branston Havelin, fondly known as "Bubba Man." Regina was also a loving sister to Bonnie Johnston and her husband Greg, and Harold Johnston and his wife Brenda. Her life was further enriched by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who continue to cherish her memory.
Regina was preceded in death by the father of her children, James Havelin; her daughter, Brandy Havelin; her mother, Mavis Johnston; her father, Alday Johnston; and her siblings, Becky Weaver and Brent Weaver. Their memories remain a cherished part of her enduring legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Lighthouse of Prayer Church with Bro. Dwight Weaver officiating. Family, friends, and all who knew Regina are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman whose generosity, laughter, and love enriched every life she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and joy that will be forever treasured by those who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
