Terry Joseph “Joey” Carpenter, a lifelong resident of Citronelle, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020. He was 47 years old. Joey was a member and Honorary Deacon of Memorial Baptist Church. Joey worked at Citronelle Marketplace as well as South Mobile County Achievement Center. He enjoyed watching wrestling and listening to Miranda Lambert and was an avid weightlifter. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Terry and Marilyn Carpenter; brother, Doug Carpenter (Melanie); nephews, Cody and Lee; niece, Macie; loving aunts, Janice Johnston and Patsy Jordan; special friends, Ron Gartman and John Lambert; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A drive through wake will be held for Joey from 6pm until 8pm Friday, May 01, 2020, at Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, May 02, 2020, at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating. The immediate family will gather in the sanctuary and friends are invited to gather in the parking lot of the church and listen to the service broadcast through an FM transmitter on channel 104.7 FM and live at Freeman Funeral Home-Citronelle facebook page.
