He is also remembered by his aunt, Mary "Dot" Byrd, siblings Spencer Byrd (Barbara), Leamon Byrd, Jr. (Bonnie), Rita Byrd, Melton Byrd, Kattie Byrd (Keith), Audrey Byrd, Sebron Byrd, Robin Byrd-Weaver (Hal), and his in-laws Ronald Lofton, Sr. (Eleanor), Mickey Lofton (Yolanda), Robert "Candy Man" Lofton (Nancy), and Rodeaner Lofton.
Tex was preceded in death by his children, Leigh Ellen Byrd and Dave Weaver, Jr.; grandson, Connie Byrd; parents, Leamon and Octavia Byrd; and sister, Sarah Chestang, along with nephews, Chad Byrd and Melton Byrd.
Tex held a special place in the hearts of many, including friends Sebron Weaver (Elsie), Johnny Lofton (Vivian), Gene Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
