Thomas Earl McCoy, born on October 31, 1956, in Charity Chapel, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on January 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose heart was deeply rooted in his family. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
Thomas spent his life dedicated to his craft as a roofer. A hardworking individual, he enjoyed the satisfaction that came from his labor and took great pride in the work he did throughout his career. His humorous and happy demeanor made him a cherished friend and colleague, and he was known for spreading joy wherever he went.
In addition to his work, Thomas had a keen interest in Alabama football, often cheering passionately for his team. He found joy in spending time with friends and listening to the music of Hank Williams, Jr., which brought him comfort and happiness.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Driver, Lisa Carter (Robert), Tonya Turner, Jeremiah Turner, and Johnny Turner; his grandchildren, Shelby Crager, William Driver, Dustin Carter, Bobby Carter, Zachariah Bohannon, Triston Bohannon, Matthew Turner, Katlyn Turner, Austin Turner, Dominic Turner, Ashlynn Turner, Christopher Turner, and Julia Turner; as well as his great-grandchildren; his siblings, Toni Seawright (Sharon) and Steven McCoy (Theresa); and many other relatives and friends who will carry on his memory.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Amos and Vesta McCoy, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Charity Chapel Assembly of God Church with Bro. Willie Long, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rivers Family Cemetery.
Thomas Earl McCoy will be remembered dearly for his legacy of love, laughter, and hard work, leaving behind a familial bond that will forever hold him in their hearts.
