Timmy Echols, born on August 21, 1970, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. A devoted family man and community member, Timmy's life was marked by his commitment to service and a joyous spirit that touched everyone he encountered.

Timmy dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver and also worked at SSAB as a mechanic. His work ethic extended to his roles as an auxiliary officer for the Washington County Sheriff's Department and as a MOWA Choctaw tribal officer and council member, reflecting his deep commitment to his community. He was a church deacon and Sunday school superintendent, representing some of his proudest accomplishments, where he led and inspired others. Timmy had a unique way of engaging with people; he would often ask everyone he met to learn the verse John 3:16, underscoring his passion for sharing faith and wisdom.

In his personal life, Timmy was known for his adventurous spirit. He loved motorcycle riding, was an avid Auburn fan, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Timmy cherished spending time with his family and friends, making memories that will be treasured by those who knew him.

Timmy is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Echols; his children, Ericka Brown (Nick), Timmy Echols, Jr. (Allison), and Amanda Winchester; and his grandchildren, Braxton, Xander, and Timmy III. He is also survived by his mother, Thelma Frith; father, Lutcher Lavern “Doc” Echols (Nellie Ann “Fox”); grandmother, Minnie Reed; brother, Wyman Stephenson (Shaquana); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends; and special caregiver, Sally Faucheaux.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Clouis Lamar Rivers; brother, Keith Echols; sister, Erica Echols; and grandparents Fletcher and Lutisha Reed; grandfathers, George Weaver, Grady Reed, and Sam Echols; and step-father, Larry Frith.

Timmy's legacy of love, service, and faith will be celebrated at Sims Chapel Holiness Church. A wake will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A visitation will be held on the following day, Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Bro. Jr Long, Bro. Sammy Rivers, and Bro. Nick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. 

Timmy Echols will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
