Toney Bob Cooper, known affectionately as Toney Bob, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on January 30, 1938, and spent his life dedicated to family, service, and his career.

Toney Bob had a commendable career working as an operator at the Cold Creek Plant for 22 years, where he demonstrated his strong work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities. His professional life was complemented by his military service; he proudly served as a Sergeant in both the Army and the National Guard, earning a Bronze Star for his dedication and bravery during the Vietnam War.

Known for his quiet yet strong sargent's personality, Toney Bob was a man of few words but deep conviction. He cherished the moments spent with loved ones, finding joy in simple pleasures like hunting and fishing. He was proud of his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, often expressing that his greatest accomplishments were found in the love he held for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Toney Bob leaves behind a loving family to honor his memory. He is survived by his children, William Robert Cooper (Melanie), John Randall Cooper (Cindy), Gaylynn Faith Cooper, and Mona Faith Cooper (David); grandchildren, Toney Martin Cooper (Samantha), John Randall Cooper, Jr. (Ryan), Jessica Rene Chaney (Justin), Crystal Lee Allison (Mikey), Casey Lynn Lowery (Thomas), and David Bryant Luker, Jr.; and an impressive legacy of 19 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings Lois Joiner (Melvin), Jean Bowden, and Sylvia Winkle (Barry), along with many extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Memrie Faith Wright Cooper; his parents, Robert and Alice Cooper; and siblings, Billy Joe Cooper and Hulen Cooper.

A visitation will be held at Calvert Baptist Church in Calvert, Alabama, on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the11:00 AM funeral service with Bro. Clay Lewis and Bro, Nick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Calvert Cemetery.

 Toney Bob’s steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of family and friends forever.
