Trudy Katherine Turner, 71, passed away on October 7, 2026.

Trudy will be remembered as an outgoing and loving woman whose warmth reached far beyond her home. Before her illness, she walked all over Deer Park and made friends everywhere she went, leaving a lasting impression through her kindness and easy connection with others. She found joy in the simple and beautiful rhythms of daily life and brought that appreciation into the lives of those around her.

She enjoyed painting, knitting, sewing, and was always reading. She loved the outdoors and took special pleasure in her flowers. Some of her happiest moments were spent watching the birds gather at the feeder while she drank coffee on her porch. She also loved her dog, Mr. Bigg, and treasured the quiet beauty of early mornings, rising to sit in the sun room and watch the daylight come, delighting in seeing the world come alive.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Milton Turner, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage; her sons, Channing and Matthew; her mother, Katherine Bardwell-Richardson; and her brother, Gary Bardwell. She also leaves behind the many friends and neighbors whose lives were brightened by her presence and friendship.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rudy Bardwell, and her brother, Phillip David Bardwell.

A family viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Park Cemetery with Bro. Barton Turner officiating.

Trudy Katherine Turner will be remembered for her loving spirit, her appreciation for the beauty of the natural world, and the genuine way she connected with others. Her memory will remain a comfort to those who knew and loved her.
