Virginia Gayle Cantin, affectionately known as Gayle, was born on February 8, 1951, and departed this world on her 75th birthday, February 8, 2026, at Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle. A beloved figure, Gayle's legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering spirit.
Throughout her career, Gayle found fulfillment in her role as a Medical Coder, where her commitment to her work was evident in all that she accomplished. Her attention to detail and professionalism shone brightly, earning her the respect of her colleagues and the admiration of those she served.
Gayle was an outgoing and pleasant individual, known for her loving nature and infectious smile. She had a remarkable ability to spread happiness wherever she went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her joy for life was palpable, as she often radiated warmth and kindness.
Above all, Gayle cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Her children, Tiffany Odom (Billy), Chris Timmons (Annie), and Cherie Summers, were the center of her world, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren: Daniel, Jordan, Adisyn, Aailyh, Ashiir, Air'Roh, Cody, RJ, and Summer. Her love for her family was boundless, and she nurtured and inspired them with her unwavering support.
Gayle is survived by her beloved children and grandchildren, her brother, Barney Martin (Margie), and a devoted niece, Joan Boothe (Billy). She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will forever treasure their memories of her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Cantin; her parents, Barney Houston Martin and Pauline Virginia Martin; her siblings, Betty Martin Knight and Johnny Martin; and her niece, Mandy. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Virginia Gayle Cantin's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and joy. As we remember her, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness and warmth in our own lives.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Gulfcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Willie Gray officiating.
