Wanda Powell Davidson

Wanda Powell Davidson, a beloved member of her community and a cherished family figure, passed away on May 6, 2025, at The Retreat Hospice Inpatient By SAAD, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 20, 1947, Wanda was known for her outgoing personality, rich sense of humor, and her ability to bring joy to those around her with her fun-loving nature.

For 38 years, she owned and operated Dynamite Fireworks in McIntosh, Alabama, creating not only a successful business but also a space where families could gather to celebrate special moments. Wanda was a proud founding member of the McIntosh Rescue Squad alongside her husband, Bobby Gene Davidson, who predeceased her. This commitment to her community showcased her dedication and passion for helping others, a hallmark of her vibrant life.

Wanda enjoyed many hobbies that reflected her creatively spirited life. Her love for crafting, gardening, and decorating for the holidays was well-known among her family and friends, several of whom have fond memories of her beautifully adorned home during festive seasons.

She is survived by her son, Brian Walter Davidson; her siblings, Walter Powell and Sammy Powell (Sharon); as well as numerous relatives and friends who will remember her with affection and gratitude for the light she brought into their lives.

A visitation will be held on May 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle, Alabama. Burial will follow in Calvert Cemetery on Red Fox Road. The family invites all who knew Wanda to come and celebrate her remarkable life and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
