William Paul Miller

December 27, 1963 — May 8, 2026

Citronelle, Alabama

Heaven’s gained another angel.

William Paul Miller, 62, of Citronelle, Alabama entered his eternal home on Friday, May 8, 2026. Leaving behind a legacy of faith, loyalty, laughter, and love for family and friends.

William was a man of many talents and passions. In his younger years, he was a gifted football player who excelled in many positions throughout his school years, carrying with him the same determination and team spirit that would define the rest of his life. He dedicated 32 years of service to Lenzing Fibers, where he earned the respect of his coworkers not only through hard work, but through leadership, serving proudly as Union President for 10 years.

An outdoorsman to his core, William was an avid deer and turkey hunter who found peace in the woods and joy in the traditions he shared with family and friends. He was also a championship turkey caller, a skill that reflected both his patience and his deep appreciation for the outdoors. Around the smoker and grill, he became equally well known. Alongside his dear friend Jordy Parham, the two formed the award-winning BBQ competition team known as “Smoking Tide,” bringing home trophies, good memories, and full plates wherever they went.

William’s love for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football was legendary. Saturdays in the fall were spoken for, and he cheered for Alabama with the same wholehearted devotion he gave to everything and everyone he loved.

More than his accomplishments, William will be remembered for his love of Jesus Christ and New Home Baptist Church where he worshipped his Lord & Savior and the way he cared for people. He was dependable, generous, and always ready to help someone in need. Whether through a cooked meal, a shared hunting trip, or simply showing up when it mattered most, he made people feel loved and taken care of.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leigh Marler Miller; his son, Chris (Cat) Miller of Yulee, Florida; three cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel and Hannah; brother Tim Miller and beloved sister in law, Karen; niece, Brittany (Ryan) Weston and great niece, Lillian; stepson, Buddy Atkins and his stepdaughters, Mary Atkins and Madison Lumpkin. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin “Dub” Miller and Ruth Ella Miller, and his sister, Cheryl McKinney.

Though his chair may now sit quiet, the stories, laughter, smoke from the grill, echoes of turkey calls, and crimson Alabama Saturdays he loved so much will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Roll Tide, William. Until we meet again.
