William Robert Pitts, affectionately known as "Billy," was born on December 30, 1973, and passed away on December 5, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy marked by his passion for education, coaching, and family.
Billy dedicated 14 years of his life to Citronelle High School, where he coached and taught, imparting his knowledge and enthusiasm for sports to countless young students. Following his time in education, he transitioned into a role as a chemical operator at Huntsman Advanced Materials, where he continued to embody the values of hard work and dedication. Additionally, Billy remained committed to shaping young talent as a volunteer baseball coach at Bishop State Community College, showcasing his lifelong love for the sport.
Billy was a memeber and Past Master of the Semmes Lodge #878 F&AM. He was a proud graduate of Citronelle High School in 1992 and later the University of Mobile, Billy's contributions to his community extended beyond the classroom and field. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and LSU Baseball fan, often spending weekends watching games or deep-sea fishing, which brought him great joy.
Billy cherished time spent with his family, valuing each moment shared with them and his friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Krista R. Pitts; his children, Julia Anne Pitts and Garrett Robert Pitts; his parents, Bobby and Carolyn Pitts; and his brother, Andy Pitts (Tracey). He was also a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews and leaves behind other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Virginia Pitts and Opal and Stella Garrett; as well as his niece, Lillian Pitts. His legacy will live on through the memories cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services for Billy will be held at Memorial Baptist Church in Citronelle, Alabama. A wake will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following day on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Dino Danzey officiating. Burial will follow in Gulfcrest Cemetery. His family invites all who knew and loved him to join in celebrating his life and the profound impact he had on those around him.
