Willie Mae Gilchrist

Willie Mae Gilchrist, born on March 26, 1934, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at The Retreat Hospice Inpatient by Saad.

Willie Mae was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Evan Willhite (Nickey); her daughter, Dana E. Lind; her cherished grandchildren, Alicia, Brandon, Austin, and Shannon; and her great-grandchildren, Maddie, BJ, Eli, and Liam. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ellen Newburn, as well as her husbands, Raymond Willhite and Bobby Gilchrist.

Visitation for Willie Mae will be held on November 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Monsignor Stephen E. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Brethern Cemetery.

Willie Mae’s legacy will continue through her family and the many lives she touched.
